Abstract

Impact on air quality inside buildings due to intrusion of vapours of volatile organic compounds (“VOCs”) is a source of concern for most sites affected by groundwater or soil contamination by VOCs. In case of redevelopment of industrial sites for residential uses it is necessary to achieve a high reduction rate in vapour intrusion to avoid inacceptable exposure levels of residents.
