Abstract
The article is aimed at representing the activities of technical evaluation carried out on the examination of the experimental program for the geological storage of carbon dioxide. The paper describes the experimentation program and the related plants, focusing attention on the assessment of the relevant risks for the environment and health, with specific aspects related to the safety, prevention and mitigation plans for significant releases of CO2. In particular, the corrective measures of prevention and protection are specified, connected both to purely technical and plant aspects, as well as to management and organizational aspects. The discussion ends with a series of assessments about the strengths of this experimental installation.
