We are proud to have edited this world-class volume 46 of Chemical Engineering Transactions that reviews the latest development and applications in various fields related to Chemical Engineering and beyond. Due to climate change mitigation requirements, sustainable development in all surrounding scientific areas are getting more and more attentions. This volume seeks to collect together scientific, engineering, ecological, and economic research on related issues, risks, and potentials that focus on methodological aspects in each topic. It will provide scholars a platform for comprehensive discussions concerning the transition of roles under current system.
Special care has been given to intelligent manufacturing, energy efficiency, sustainable energy and economic development, and application of modern information technology etc. Along with the economic development, conflict between energy consumption and economy development is getting intense. Clean energy and advanced technical innovation need to be applied in the process of industrial structural adjustment to maintain a sustainable balance. This volume is the outcome of an ambitious collaboration between the research work of more than 500 scholars and 200 universities. Each paper in this volume has its highlighted relevance, significance and outcome and can be very useful to research groups who are interested in sustainability development.
In total of nine major subjects related to sustainable development are included as Chemical and Material Engineering, Food, Biotechnology, Biological Engineering, Life Science, Agricultural engineering, Engineering physics, Earth Sciences and Civil Engineering, New Developments in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Hybrid Information Technology, Sustainability in Sciences and Engineering, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and Management Sciences and Engineering. We really appreciate the reviewers' efforts and they have played a crucial and fundamental role in constructing this volume.
