This Volume of Chemical Engineering Transactions presents a selection of high-quality articles in the field of nanotechnology based innovative applications for the environment. The main goal of the current volume is to provide an up-to-date summary of the most recent developments and applications in the fields of nanotechnology application to the environment protection, including characterization, monitoring, remediation of contaminated sites, and treatment of water, wastewater and residues.
A special care is devoted to the synthesis of advanced nanomaterials, including sensors, coatings, nanostructured adsorbents, insulating materials, and active nanoparticles.
In total 7 different subjects have been considered:
- Nanosensors and bionanosensors for environmental characterization and monitoring
- Nanomaterials for the environment
- Nanostructured materials for advanced remediation processes
- Nano-based water and wastewater treatment processes
- Membrane processes for the environment
- Health and safety issues concerning nanomaterials
- Nano-based air depuration processes
The Guest Editors believe that the published papers will attract wide readership attention among researchers and engineers from academic and research institutions, as well as stakeholders from industry, interested to the recent advances and new approaches on the application of nanotechnologies to the environment.
